I started my scientific career in Barcelona, where I obtained a degree in Biology and a MsC in Biomedical Research at the Pompeu Fabra University. Next, I joined the PharmacoInformatics Group at the Research Programme on Biomedical Informatics, a joint research programme of the Hospital del Mar Medical Research Institute (IMIM) and the Department of Experimental and Health Sciences of the Pompeu Fabra University. There, I conducted my PhD thesis under the supervision of Dr. Manuel Pastor and Dr. Jana Selent. The work of my thesis focused on the prediction of ligand selectivity at GPCRs. This included using modeling and simulation aproaches to predict multi-target binding profiles and to analyze ligand and receptor features related to biased agonism. During my PhD, I had also the opportunity to take part in Europin, a European training through research PhD program on PharmacoInformatics. Participation in the Europin program allowed me to conduct part of my research at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the University of Perugia under the supervision of Dr. Antonio Macchiarulo. I obtained my PhD in February 2015 and, after working for a short period as a Postdoctoral Researcher in the same group, in November 2015 I joined the lab of Dr. Peter Kolb at Philipps-University Marburg.
